The dashboard
Settings, the mod list, who is in the world, and getting a deleted world back.
Where a world is administered. Playing never requires it, and a person who only joins your world will never open it. It is free during the beta and there is nothing to buy.
What the first screen shows
One thing at a time, depending on how far along your account is.
- No code yet
- A card asking for an access code. Until one is redeemed the rest of the dashboard has nothing to show.
- No Minecraft account bound
- The
/vbf linkpanel, waiting for your client. See linking your account. - Nothing running
- An empty state with two doors: create a world here, or start one from Minecraft’s Singleplayer screen.
- Worlds
- Your worlds and the ones you have joined, with who is on right now, how long the longest session this week ran, and how much ground has moved between people.
The worlds list
- Yours and Joined are listed separately. Worlds you have joined never count against how many you may own.
- The header prints how many of your slots are in use. At your cap the page says which world to delete rather than leaving you to work it out.
- Delete on a world you own, Leave on one you joined. The wording is different because the outcomes are.
One world’s page
Everyone in a world sees Overview, Members, Pack, Map and Settings. The owner also sees Invites, Bans, Audit, Presence and Reports. Tabs you do not have are absent rather than greyed out: a control that would refuse you is not drawn at all.
Overview
Who is on, how much ground is held, and a graph of when the world has been played. A world nobody has entered yet says so, and reminds you that everything about it including the seed can still be changed.
Members
Everyone who has joined, each with the shade they are drawn in on the map and how many regions they are carrying. The owner can promote somebody to op, remove them, or ban them. Removing and banning are different acts and the page explains the difference before you commit to either.
Pack
The mod list, its size, and when it was last stamped. Owners get an editor onto Modrinth. Covered in packs and mods.
Map
A live plan of the world showing where people are and what they hold. Three things live here:
- Publishing. Off by default. Turned on, the map gets a public link anybody can watch and an embed you can put on a page. Members always see the map from the dashboard either way.
- The world’s policy. Whether player names, skins and chat may ride along with a position. Each is off, requested, or required.
- Your own sharing. What you personally allow, within what the world permits. The same choices are in the game under
/vbf map.
Settings
- Getting in. Whitelist or open, and the whitelist editor. Names that do not resolve yet are accepted and wait to bind on first join.
- The link. Read it aloud, copy it, give it a name of your own, or rotate it. See inviting your friends.
- What this world is. Its name and a short description, which is shown on the confirmation somebody sees when they redeem a code.
- Game settings. Mode, difficulty, commands and the game rules, applying the next time the world starts. The seed and world type are shown as facts once the world exists.
- Danger zone. Delete the world if you own it, leave it if you do not.
The rest of the rail
- Account
- Your name, your Minecraft binding, your sign-ins and your data. Covered in your account.
- Billing
- Nothing to pay. There is no card on file and nothing to cancel while the beta runs, and if that changes we will say so well before it does.
- Feedback
- Bugs and suggestions, optionally attached to a world. The same thing
/vbf bug-reportdoes from the game. - Downloads
- Every build we have published.
