What Fragments is, and the whole path from an invitation to playing together.

A mod in your game, where you play, and an account on this site, where a world is described and who may enter it is decided.

The whole path

Six stages from a link in a message to standing in a world. Three of them belong to whoever invited you.

  1. 01In your inbox
    Somebody invites youAn invitation arrives by email, or a friend sends you a link to a world they already have.Somebody else does this
  2. 02On the site
    You make an accountOnly the person responsible for a world needs one. If you are joining somebody else's, skip this.
  3. 03In the game
    You install the modOne jar, in a NeoForge 1.21.1 profile. Everyone in the group runs the same build.
  4. 04On the site
    Somebody makes a worldDescribed on the site or started in the game. It generates the first time a person presses Play.Somebody else does this
  5. 05On the site
    They send you the linkFour words with vbf: in front. The whole of what you need to find the world.Somebody else does this
  6. 06In the game
    You paste it into Add ServerMultiplayer, Add Server, paste, join. From then on it sits in your server list like anything else.

Joining somebody else’s world needs two of these: install the mod and paste the link. No account and no sign-in on that path.

What you need

  • Minecraft: Java Edition 1.21.1.
  • NeoForge, because that is the loader the mod is built for. There is no Fabric build.
  • The Fragments jar, the same build as everyone else in the group. It comes from Downloads.
  • An access code, if you are making a world. The beta is closed, and a code is what opens an account.

Two conventions

Anything in a box, like Promote to Fragment, is quoted from your own screen. Pictures of game and site screens are drawings rather than screenshots, and each says so underneath.
